Midlife, Menopause, Mahjong and maybe a Memoir!

Updated: Aug 20, 2025

Ready to turn up the heat—literally and figuratively and looking to try new things as a way to get together and support one another through these crazy/changes/times! Here are some ideas! Whether you're hosting book club, Mahjong night, or just looking for an excuse to laugh-cry with your favorite midlife crew, a menopause-themed party is the kind of event we didn’t know we needed. Until now.

Step 1: Embrace the Theme Think fans, wine, and witty one-liners. String up a banner that reads Hot Flashes & Hot Takes or Mood Swings Welcome.

Step 2: Dress Code – Wraps, Robes, and Rapid Disrobing

Outfits should feature at least one item that can be ripped off mid-hot flash with the grace of a daytime soap star. Wraps, oversized scarves, dramatic dusters—if it flutters when you fling it, it’s perfect. Temperature regulation has never looked so glamorous.

Step 3: Book Talk, But Make It RelatableWhether you’re reading The Hormonal Hangover Society or not (but like…you should be), bring in personal stories, WTF moments, and a side of solidarity. Forget plot twists—let’s talk life twists.

Step 4: Snack Accordingly Chocolate? Obviously. Wine? Required. Cheese board? You earned it. Sparkling mocktails? For the HRT crew. Keep it light, salty, and satisfying—just like your group text.

Step 5: Parting Gift or Prize Idea Mini fans, lip gloss, or a "You're Not Alone" survival kit (mints, tissues, mascara, and a copy of the book).

Because if we’re sweating, spiraling, or just surviving—we might as well do it together.
